Tiger stripe removal

Gutter Cleaning and Exterior Brightening

Those vertical black streaks on the face of your gutters are oxidised residue that a normal house wash will not touch. They need a dedicated brightening treatment. We clear the debris out of the trough so water actually drains, then treat the exterior face to remove tiger striping and restore the original colour.

Why it matters

What you get with our gutter brightening

Removes what house washing cannot

Tiger stripes are oxidation bonded to the gutter face. They need a dedicated brightening treatment, not a rinse.

Protects the foundation

Clogged gutters overflow against the house. Clearing them properly is drainage maintenance, not just appearance.

Finishes the house wash

Clean siding above dirty, streaked gutters looks unfinished. Brightening ties the whole exterior together.

Cheaper bundled

We are already set up and on-site during a house wash, so adding gutters costs meaningfully less than a separate visit.

How it works

Our process, step by step

  1. Clear the trough

Leaves, grit, and shingle debris are removed from the gutter run by hand.

  2. Flush downspouts

Each downspout is flushed and checked to confirm water is actually moving through.

  3. Brighten the face

A dedicated treatment is applied to the exterior face to break down oxidation and tiger striping.

  4. Rinse and verify

Full rinse of gutters and the siding below, then a drainage check before we leave.

Your questions answered

Gutter Cleaning and Brightening questions

What are the black stripes on my gutters?

They are called tiger stripes: oxidised residue that builds up where water runs over the gutter face. A standard house wash will not remove them because they are bonded to the surface. They need a dedicated brightening treatment.

How often should gutters be cleaned?

Once or twice a year for most homes in the Atlanta metro. Properties with heavy tree cover, especially pines and oaks, usually need the trough cleared twice.

Can you do gutters at the same time as a house wash?

Yes, and it is the most cost-effective way to book it. We are already on-site and set up, so the combined price is lower than booking the two separately.
